Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

John Barrymore

John Barrymore was an acclaimed American stage and film actor of the early twentieth century (although younger film-goers would be more impressed that he was the grandfather of Drew Barrymore.  He starred in over sixty films including one of the 1920 versions of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, based on the Robert Louis Stevenson novella (this was the fourth adaptation of the story for the screen).  It also borrows from the 1887 stage version, introducing Millicent Carew as Jekyll's fiancée.
